Northeastern university in CALIFORNIA
Where education is powered by experience
OAKLAND | SILICON VALLEY
Our unique model pairs local expertise with global impact.
Established in Boston in 1898, Northeastern University is the world leader in experiential learning and an R1 research university. To connect our academic programs directly with centers of industry and innovation, the university now enrolls students at 14 campuses in the U.S., U.K., and Canada. The Silicon Valley campus opened in 2015 and is dedicated to graduate-level study and research. The Oakland campus was launched from a merger with Mills College in 2022, and is home to both commuting graduate students and residential undergraduate students.
Northeastern’s signature approach to higher education centers the connection between academic inquiry and real-world impact. Ranked #1 in internships and co-ops by U.S. News and World Report, the university is acclaimed for its partnerships and career development support. We also bring experiential learning to campus through in-class industry projects, research opportunities, and up-to-date courses taught by faculty with direct field experience. No matter where you go next, you’ll be equipped to work across disciplines on solutions that lift communities near and far.
