Graduate Programs at Northeastern University in Oakland and Silicon Valley
At Northeastern, we have always been focused on connecting education to the real lives and goals of our students. From our earliest origins in 1898 as Boston’s first law school for working professionals, through our rise to international renown for our cooperative education model, we have grounded our academic programs in their impact.
Students are given opportunities throughout their programs to focus on the areas that interest them most. Hands-on project based work is prioritized, including in partnership with external businesses and organizations. Many programs offer research opportunities aimed both at academia and PhD pathways, or applied research geared towards industry R&D and product development. Through electives and concentrations, each student is encouraged to build knowledge—and a portfolio—based on the ideas they want to pursue and the skills they want to demonstrate.
Our two California campuses each employ full-time faculty, adjunct faculty who work across academia and industry, dedicated career development and academic advising teams, and leadership. Each program follows the same core curriculum as in Boston and across our campuses, tailored to the unique ecosystem of the Bay Area and taught by professors who have built their careers here.
Students admitted to graduate programs in Silicon Valley and Oakland for Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 may be eligible for program-specific scholarships up to 50% of tuition.
Awards vary by program. Eligibility is confirmed through standard application, and offers of admission will include details of matched financial awards.
